WashSaleCalc gives educational estimates based on IRS Publication 550, 26 U.S.C. §1091 and related guidance. It is general information. It does not replace a tax professional, lawyer or accountant, and using it does not create a professional relationship of any kind. It cannot see your full situation, such as trades in other accounts, your spouse's accounts or your retirement accounts.
Check before you act
Tax law and IRS guidance can change, and some questions, such as which funds are substantially identical, have no settled answer. Check results with a qualified tax professional before you trade or file. You are responsible for your own trading and tax decisions.
Market calendar
First safe trading days use NYSE's published holiday calendar where available (currently through 2028) and NYSE's standard holiday rules for later years through 2040. If the market closes without notice, the first trading day can come later than the date shown. Dates outside 2024 through 2040 are marked as estimates.
